I stumbled upon this gem a couple of years back and I’ll be honest; the views of the indoor car park didn’t exactly blow me away at first, but there’s an understated charm about this place that grows on you.

Since that first visit, I’ve found myself here at least a couple of dozen times and each visit brings the chance to meet fascinating people and have interesting conversations with fellow cigar aficionados.

It’s small but in the cosiest way possible. You know the kind of place where you’re like, “Is this mine?” because it feels like your own secret cigar lair.

The staff here? They’re fantastic. Go once and they’ll know you by name. It’s that kind of welcoming atmosphere that keeps drawing me back.

Tucked away on the third floor of the Town In Town Hotel in Thong Lor, Nightcap is a hidden sanctuary for cigar enthusiasts – a genuine hidden gem.

And trust me when I say “hidden”

There’s a little door behind a curtain with no signs. I confess I must’ve passed by it a few times, but trust me, once you find it, you’ll be glad you did.

Nightcap feels like a private members-only club, cocooned in an ambience rich with nostalgia and exclusivity.

It’s like stepping into the classy side of a black-and-white movie. Vintage books, cushy leather chairs, and wooden panelling transport you to a 1920s time capsule where time stands still.

The bar staff don’t just serve drinks; they navigate the world of single malts with the finesse of seasoned experts.

They have an impressive cigar menu available as well or you can bring your own with no cutting fees.

Nestled within the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel, next to the Chao Phraya River, the BKK Social Club is a delightful haven for cigar enthusiasts, providing a unique blend of elegance and relaxation.

I’ve had the pleasure of attending herfs and casual meetups with friends at this exquisite venue.

While you can only smoke cigars outside, you really don’t mind. As the sun sets and the evening cools, the setting becomes even more enchanting.

The BKK Social Club boasts expert mixologists who craft a delicious Old Fashioned, adding to the overall allure of the place. Additionally, the food menu offers delightful options to pair with your chosen cigar.

10. The Blind Pig At The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar

The Blind Pig At Hotel Muse

Perched atop the Muse Hotel, The Blind Pig at The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar is another hidden gem, featuring a dedicated cigar room adorned with plush sofas.

The first time I visited was in the middle of rainy season and I got absolutely drenched on the back of a motorbike taxi.

I turned up looking like a drowned rat and the staff went over and above to help me out, giving me towels to dry myself off and doing their best to make sure I was comfortable

This experience not only reflects the commitment to guest comfort and service excellence at The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar but is also echoed in their Google reviews.

I highly recommend this place if you’re looking an aficionado looking for an ideal retreat in a tranquil setting.

11. La Casa Del Habano At Kempinski Hotel Sindhorn

La Casa Del Habano

La Casa Del Habano at Kempinski Hotel Sindhorn holds a special place in my heart, as it was one of the first places I discovered when I moved to Bangkok.

The experience begins at the grand entrance of the Kempinski Hotel, where the stunning lobby welcomes you with the enchanting sounds of harpists and violinists.

Walking into La Casa Del Habano is like entering a realm of tranquillity and sophistication. It’s hard to put into words the atmosphere; all I can say is that it’s incredibly relaxing.

There’s something about this place that has an aspirational quality, making it more than just a cigar destination. It’s an oasis where you can unwind, reflect, and celebrate life’s moments, big or small.

The large humidor, exclusively stocked with Cuban cigars, adds to the allure. The staff, well-versed in the world of cigars can help you find the perfect cigar for based on your experience and preferences.

There’s an equally beautiful La Casa Del Habano at Kimpinski Hotel Siam, which you can walk to from inside the Siam Paragon Shopping Centre, perfect if you want to kick back while the wife’s shopping.

What I like: Very relaxed vibe, attentive staff, a wide selection of drinks.

What I don’t like: A whopping cutting fee of ฿400 per cigar.

Bring your own cigar: Yes

Cutting fee: Yes, ฿400 per cigar if you sit inside, though they have a nice garden area outside where you can order drinks and smoke your own sticks without paying a cutting fee.

12. Whisgars

whisgars

Whiskgars on Sukhumvit Soi 23 is a popular place for cigar lovers and it’s easy to see why…

They have a decent-sized cigar humidor with a wide selection of cigars to choose from. They have expert mixologists on hand who can whip up for you the perfect cocktail.

I’ve been here twice and I really want to like this place more but both experiences left much to be desired:

The first time I went was about 8pm on a Saturday. I was hoping to find a little corner somewhere and settle down for a relaxing smoke. However, because it was packed, the only option was to sit on the bar stool at the furthest left of the bar, directly in front of the stage.

It felt kinda awkward. That also happens to be the spot where the waiters drop off all the dirty dishes so yeah, far from ideal.

The second time I brought a friend along though we could hardly talk because the music was so loud. To make matters worse, we were asked to relocate mid-cigar session to make way for another group.

It just put me off. I don’t know, maybe I’m just a grumpy old fart, or maybe I’m not their target demographic, because a lot of people do rant and rave about this place and it’s near the top of every list of Bangkok cigar places I’ve.

So check it out – you might love it. Though I’d recommend going on a weekday if you’re looking to wind down.

What I like: Trained mixologists, the Filipino band they have playing Friday and Saturday nights are brilliant. Cool and happening vibe.

What I don’t like: Overpriced, music too loud and they allow cigarette smokers to smoke (without cutting fees of course).

Bring your own cigar: Yes

Cutting fee: Yes, ฿400 a stick

13. Character Whiskey & Cigar Bar

character

Walking into Character on the 32nd floor of the Skyview Hotel was like stepping into a lavish oasis for cigar and whiskey enthusiasts.

The interior exudes opulence, with plush sofas and chairs that promise a level of comfort worth savouring. The staff, despite the steep prices, were genuinely attentive, trying their best to make our experience enjoyable.

However, I left Character with a lingering sense that I’d just been ripped off. The prices are ridiculous.

I came with my wife and because this is a whiskey bar, if my wife wanted a cocktail she was told she’d have to go next door to the Mojjo Rooftop Bar. So, in the end, I sat in Character alone and she sat in Mojjo. This left a sour note in an otherwise promising setting.

It’s a shame because this place is stunning and, with just a few tweaks, Character has the potential to be so much more.

What I like: Wide selection of premium quality whiskies and cigars, great views of the Bangkok skyline.

What I don’t like: Super expensive, not much of an atmosphere

Bring your own cigar: Yes

Cutting fee: Yes, ฿400 per cigar.

More Great Places To Smoke Cigars In Bangkok

While these may not be cigar lounges or cigar bars per se, here are more of my favourite spots in Bangkok to enjoy a cigar and unwind.

14. CRAFT At Kimpton Maa-Lai Hotel

Nestled within the lush surroundings of Sindhorn, just a leisurely stroll from the Kempinski Hotel, CRAFT is not just a cafe and bakery; it’s a peaceful oasis.

They have a large area out on the terrace where you can smoke your cigar surrounded by a tranquil pond and green trees listening to the sound of birdsong.

As you settle in, the spectacular drinks and an array of delectable treats, including croissants, pastries, muffins, and sandwiches, elevate the experience. Every sip and bite at CRAFT is a culinary delight.

I come to this spot regularly and it’s definitely worth a visit next time you’re out and about in Bangkok looking for a relaxing escape.

15. O’Shea’s Irish Sports Bar

o'shea's bangkok

Situated right near BTS Phrom Phong on Sukhumvit 33/1, this bustling street has three British/Irish pubs:

O’Shea’s takes the crown with the largest terrace and the cosiest seating in town.

If you’re a fan of straightforward, no-frills vibes, love hearty Irish grub, and enjoy a bit of people-watching (like me), then O’Shea’s is the go-to spot you’ve been looking for.

It’s a great place to sit and smoke a cigar over a pint of fine ale or a glass of the strong stuff without breaking the bank.

What I like: Friendly staff, good food and great atmosphere.

What I don’t like: Gets a bit busy on a Friday and Saturday night.

16. Cooling Tower Rooftop Bar

cooling tower rooftop bar

Perched on the 34th floor of Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit, Cooling Tower Rooftop Bar offers a sky-high haven for cigar enthusiasts.

The highlight?

A spectacular view of the city makes it an ideal spot to enjoy a relaxing cigar while watching the sunset.

The bar boasts an impressive selection of cocktails, including must-tries like the Golden Hour, Midnight Sun, and the delightful Lychee Martini. If you prefer non-alcoholic options, their range of mocktails is equally enticing.

I celebrated Chinese New Year here with friends from the local cigar society and we had an absolute blast.

A word of caution though: their buy one get one free (BOGOF) happy hour promotion on cocktails can catch you off guard if you’re not careful! I’m speaking from experience!

So, if you’re in Bangkok and looking for a perfect rooftop retreat with breathtaking views, Cooling Tower Rooftop Bar is the place to be.

What I like: Panoramic views, exquisite cocktails, cool atmosphere, professional waiting staff.

What I don’t like: A bit pricey but that’s to be expected at a rooftop bar.

17. Aqua Bar At Anantara Siam

Aqua Bar At Anantara Siam

Now let me tell you about this gem in Ratchaprasong – Aqua Bar at Anantara Siam.

After recent renovations, it’s become my go-to spot for a bit of an upscale escape.

Picture this: crystal cocktails next to a serene koi pond, live New Orleans Jazz playing in the background – this place is all about that sophisticated vibe.

The reason I like this place so much is it’s got this indoor space that feels like you’re outside, and the best part?

You can totally light up a cigar here. It’s like finding a secret garden in the heart of bustling Bangkok.

So, if you’re looking for a bit of sophistication, check out Aqua Bar at Anantara Siam to elevate your evenings with a wide selection of beverages, the finest cigars and the enchanting ambience of this hidden oasis.

What I like: Great atmosphere, beautiful surroundings.

What I don’t like:

And Finally…

If you’re travelling around Thailand and get the chance to go to Pattaya, be sure to check out Sugar Hut – trust me, it’s a hidden gem.

Within the resort, they have Cigar Hut; a three-story tower which is far more luxurious than the name suggests. Each floor is adorned with beautiful cigar lounges, nestled among beautiful tree canopies.

If you find yourself in Chiang Mai, head over to Puravida Latin Bar & Cigar Lounge. A perfect blend of Latin vibes and a relaxing cigar experience.

And if you’re looking for cigar lounges in Phuket, La Torcedora and Churchills are two great spots for your must-visit list.
